a little update...

Sad to say but we are cancelling our internet as it has not been working at all or with any speed at all since about June... we've wasted much time and money on this internet and we are about to say goodbye to it... but the good news is: the money we save on this wasted bill will be going to our new 2004 Honda Civic Ex car that was desperately needed to safely drive this little wonder around.

Cailen is awesome and doing well. She laughed her first laughs on friday and saturday and it was thrilling to this mommy's ears. She is so sweet and growing SO fast. We had to adjust her sleeping arrangements but she is sleeping from approx. 10:30pm until 9:30am everyday with only one waking time for eating and a quick diaper change... She now sleeps in her carseat which is nestled in her bassinette.... she likes is a whole lot more than laying flat on her back. We are sleeping with the lights off and use only an occasional flash light to assist in the dark. Daddy no longer has to sleep in the guest room and we are all feeling well rested for once. :)

Since I am visiting Ben and Keila I am able to post this and will hopefully update it sooner than later when visiting someone/anyone with high speed internet.

As you can see, my brother "Aunt Beanie" (long story with the name) is getting along well with his new neice though at times I think she thinks he's a bit of a weirdo.... :)

All too fast...

...she is growing up. Cailen is now 5 and a half weeks old. And she's a little person now... not that she wasn't before, but it's becoming more and more real everyday. She's already smiling and cooing and holding her head up without us prompting her to try. Her legs are so strong.... and she just went for her one month check up... She has gained 3 pounds since the last visit.. now, 10lb. 11oz. (she lost weight before going to her first doctor's apointment) she's grown 3 inches... now 23 inches... the same as her 5 month old friend Adrianna I believe and her large noggin' now measures at 40 1/4 cm... it was 37 cm at birth... My little girl is growing too fast as we predicted she would... I mean her parents are big people so why wouldn't she be? This speedy growth leaves me contemplating the fact that I will have to have more babies.... soon?... (not too soon) so that I can still have a tiny baby around...

It truly has been an amazing time just being home with my baby. Watching her grow day by day. Outside of using the bathroom and the occassional shut eye, I have been with this baby every moment of her life. I marvel at God's creation and stare at this tiny face wondering what God has planned for her life. Knowing that this child, THIS child has a purpose in God's plan. I am so thankful for the tiny person God has entrusted to me and Kris. She's so wonderful and I love her more than I ever could have imagined...

Christmas with our new baby was nice. We visited my aunt's house on Christmas Eve and visited the Groff's and my parents on Christmas day. She LOVED Mrs. Groff!.... She slept the entire "Eve" at my aunt's and was a bit fussy on the "Day," I'm guessing we've been doing too much partying out of her element and messing up her routine. She did well though and was loved by all. She dressed as a santa baby and I said she dressed up to bring "joy and happiness" to all the people. I think she did her job well. (As babies are good at bringing joy and happiness to all...I'm not trying to be partial here people!)

An angel is born.

On November 27, 2006, Cailen was born. She has strawberry blonde hair and for now at least, blue eyes. Her favorite past times include nursing, dreaming about nursing, eating her hands, having all night slumber parties with mommy, pooping, hiccuping, staring at her daddy, and sporting her entire new wardrobe in one day. Though she does sleep for 30 min - 2 hour increments during the night, she keeps mommy awake even when she's sleeping because mommy just can't stop beholding the beauty of her little face. She's such a blessing and she is so amazing. I can't believe she is here. I love her so much. If you haven't met her yet, I hope you will be able to soon. :)
